Frank Robinson

Chair

Frank Robinson joined the Sarah Moore Greene Foundation in 2014 and currently serves as its chairman. Born in Harriman, Tennessee, Frank graduated from the University of Tennessee with Bachelor of Science and MBA Finance/Economic degrees. Frank lives in Knoxville, Tennessee where he has served as VP of Oak Ridge Rotary Club, commissioner & president of Tennessee Technology Development Authority, and board chair of Knoxville Area Urban League. He currently serves as board chair of Beck Cultural Exchange Center and board member of Joy School of Music. A passion for helping others and dedication to Sarah Moore Greene’s life-long commitment to the education of underachieving children, led Frank to the Sarah Moore Greene Foundation

John Sibley

Vice Chair

John Sibley joined the Sarah Moore Greene Foundation Board of Directors in 2014 and currently serves as its vice chairman. John resides in Knoxville, Tennessee and has received committee and task force appointments from Governor of State of Tennessee, Mayor(s) of the City of Knoxville, Tennessee, and the University of Tennessee. He was educated at Southern University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Bachelor of Architecture); University of Tennessee (Knoxville) Haslam School of Business; Harvard Divinity School Summer Leadership Institute and Resident Fellows Program (Cambridge, MA). John is one of the founders of The Literacy Imperative and a participant in Harvard Divinity School Religious Literacy Project. His passion for eradicating illiteracy and dedication to Sarah Moore Greene’s life-long commitment to the education of underachieving children, led John to the Sarah Moore Greene Foundation.

Aleece Stewart

Treasurer

Aleece Stewart is a retired Supervisor of Health Services for Knox County Schools. Aleece joined the Sarah Moore Greene Foundation Board of Directors in 2015. Her academic achievements include – Healthcare Administration Degree, St. Joseph University; and Nursing Degree, St. James Hospital/Praire State College. A resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, Aleece worked for Knox County School System for 39 years. Her accomplishments includes the State of Tennessee – National Board School Nurse Certification; Co-author of State of Tennessee – Manual for Students with Medical Needs; and member of Knox County Board of Health. She was the first School Nurse for Sarah Moore Greene School. A family friend of Sarah Moore Greene since childhood, Aleece is grateful to be a part of an organization that is committed to improving the lives of underachieving children in East Tennessee.

Blenza Davis

Member

Blenza Davis is a retired Principal of the Sarah Moore Greene School where she served for 18 years. Blenza joined the Sarah Moore Greene Foundation Board of Directors in 2018. A resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, Blenza worked for Knox County School System for 35 years. Her academic achievements includes – MS EdD Program, University of Tennessee; MS Curriculum and Instruction, University of Tennessee; and BS Elementary Education, Knoxville College. Blenza was the recipient of Best Award in Recognition of Excellence in the Field of Education; and Apple Distinguished School I Award – Exemplary Implementation of Education Technology. A professional and personal long-time friend of Sarah Moore Greene, Blenza is grateful to be a part of an organization that is committed to improving the lives of underachieving children in East Tennessee.

Walter Mencer

Member

Walter Mencer is Supervisor of Instrumental Music for Knox County Schools. Walter joined the Sarah Moore Greene Foundation Board of Directors in 2015. A resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, Walter has worked for Knox County Schools for 46 years. His academic achievements includes – Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University; and Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Knoxville College. Sarah Moore Greene’s life-long commitment to the education of underachieving children, led Walter to the Sarah Moore Greene Foundation.

Thomas Strickland

Member

Thomas Strickland is retired City of Knoxville Director of Community Relations. Thomas joined the Sarah Moore Greene Foundation Board of Directors in 2015. Thomas graduated from the University of Tennessee with Bachelor of Science in Marketing. He lives in Knoxville, Tennessee where he has served as First African American Chairman of Knox County Commission; Co-founder and member, Board of Directors, Interfaith Health Clinic; and Vice Chair of Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee. Thomas is grateful to be a part of an organization that is committed to improving the lives of underachieving children in East Tennessee.
